iPhone 17 Air may not meet expectations: Here’s why

Ana sayfa / Smartphones

Tangible developments continue to emerge regarding the iPhone 17 Air, which Apple is preparing to unveil in September. So far, reports about the smartphone have consistently suggested that it will stand out with its slim design while offering flagship-level performance. However, according to recent developments, the model may fall short of expectations in at least one area.

According to Instant Digital, a source with over 1.4 million followers on Weibo, the upcoming iPhone 17 Air will have a battery capacity of less than 3,000 mAh. As is well known, battery capacities in the industry are steadily increasing, and nowadays even 5,000 mAh is barely considered acceptable. Especially with Chinese brands offering batteries exceeding 7,000 mAh, users also expect similar performance from major manufacturers like Apple.

Previous rumors claimed that the iPhone 17 Air’s battery would be around 2,800 mAh, which, like the latest report, falls short of the 3,000 mAh mark.

Of course, while battery capacity is important, it’s also possible to offer longer usage times with software optimization. In this case, sources claim that despite the iPhone’s smaller battery, the new Adaptive Power Mode in iOS 26 could allow for all-day use. Still, it’s worth noting that these are theoretical claims for now. We’ll get a clearer idea of its actual performance once users get their hands on the device.
